How Long Do All-on-4 Dental Implants Last?

Team Dental Implants

The innovative alternative to dentures or individual implants known as the All on 4® treatment has proven its durability. The implants you receive during this treatment have a 20 plus year success rate. The artificial teeth will need replacement earlier depending on the wear you put on them.

All on 4 Dental Implant Procedure

The All on 4 Dental Implant treatment is also called the Teeth in a Day® and All On 4 [4 is the number of implants placed] because it allows you to leave your surgery appointment with a whole new set of teeth. So how does the procedure work?

You’ll first meet with our award-winning periodontist, Dr. Gordon. As the founder of Progressive Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, Dr. Gordon has years of experience in providing natural-looking and feeling dental implants. During your first appointment, Dr. Gordon will discuss your options for replacing missing or failing teeth. Options may include single implants, dentures, or the All on 4 implant treatment.

To qualify for the All on 4 treatment, you’ll need to be in relatively good overall health, because the treatment requires surgery. Dr. Gordon will confirm that you have enough remaining jawbone to support the implants. If you meet these and other criteria and decide to move forward with the All on 4 treatment, appointments will be set up to move you through the process.

You’ll then be scheduled for surgery, and given pre-operative instructions. On the day of your surgery, Dr. Gordon will extract any teeth that need to be removed. Then the screws that will anchor your implants will be set in your jaw bone. Unlike traditional implants which may require one screw per implant, the Teeth in a Day treatment requires as few as four screws to support all of the new, artificial teeth on your upper or lower jaw. After the surgery is complete, your temporary set of teeth will be attached, and you will leave the office with a whole set of teeth.

After the surgical sites have completely healed, you’ll return to have the non-removable set of teeth attached to your implants, giving you a beautiful row of new teeth.

Reasons to Consider the All on 4 Implant Treatment

If you have significant tooth decay, multiple missing, or failing teeth on your top or bottom jaw, the All on 4 Implant treatment may be a good option for you. Advantages of this innovative dental implant treatment include an expedited smile restoration. In addition, the implants help to maintain your jawbone which can eliminate the sunken appearance caused by missing teeth.  It will give back the function of the solid teeth and great esthetics. The Teeth in a Day treatment is typically more cost-effective than individual implants replacing all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
